The Museum focuses on the history of the Geology of Scotland, and its tectonic shifts that established where it exists today on Earth. To achieve this, Stone will be utilized in a conceptual manner in the transformation galleries, expressing transformation through vertically angular geometries of the walls in a cladding treatment. In the Permanent Galleries, traditional Scottish stacked stone methods will be employed. The Aura that stone brings with its heavy presence can be used to guide movement through space with its geometries. One will experience a sense of geological discovery as they ascend themselves through the land of Scotland itself. A viewer experiences each of Scotland’s six distinct geological terrains by the end of their adventure within the project.
